Sexual harassment of Women Employees & Students

In accordance with the guidelines issued by the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, POSH Act, 2013, and Gender Sensitisation and Sexual Harassment of Women at the Supreme Court of India (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Regulations, 2013, the Institute of Management Bhubaneswar (IMB) hereby, constitutes the Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) to ensure vigilance and smooth operation of anti-sexual harassment activities across the campus.

As per, Section 4 of All India Council for Technical Education (Gender Sensitization, Prevention and Prohibition of Sexual Harassment of Women Employees and Students and Redressal of Grievances in Technical Institutions) Regulations, 2016, the term of office of the members of the IC shall be for a period of three years.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance if an employee or a student chooses to file a complaint with the police.
  • Identity Of the victim should be kept confidential to the public.
  • Ensure victim or witness should not be victimised..
  • Provide mandatory relief by sanctioning leave, relaxation in attendance, transferring to another department or supervisor.
  • Provide for the transfer Of the offender.

Working of the committee:

Any staff /student/plaintiff may forward such a complaint in written form (hard copy) as well as a rail is to be sent to info@imbsom.in, On receiving a complaint, the convenor shall call upon the committee members to hear the grievance within 24 working hours. Keeping the sensitivity of the matter in purview, the names of either the plaintiff or the accused shall not be made public under any circumstances.

After a suitable hearing of the grievances, the committee shall forward the report to Principal’s office who shall take necessary action at his end, that may amount to suspension/criminal proceedings against the accused.
